…surely has to be the ukulele!
My gorgeous and very talented friend Chris created his own ukulele orchestra about three years ago and recently asked me if I would photograph one of their sessions. So I went along and was introduced to one of the happiest and nicest groups of people I’ve had the pleasure of meeting. I’m especially grateful to Nicola who took the trouble to come over and chat with me for a while.
The lighting was horrible, a mixture of fading daylight and greeny fluoroescent overhead strip lights. I wanted to concentrate on capturing the expressions and happy atmosphere so shot in RAW to give me complete flexibility in post processing, and supplemented the light with flash as required. I’ve been working on a mono action with a warm vintage vibe, and tried it out on some of the shots here.
